The code in the above listing is more complex than anything we’ve seen so far, as it has an extra layer of abstraction. The endpoint middleware passes an EndpointFilterFactoryContext object to the factory function, which contains extra details about the endpoint in comparison to the context passed to a normal filter function. Specifically, it includes a MethodInfo property, and an EndpointMetadata property.

The MethodInfo property can be used to control how the filter is created based on the definition of the endpoint handler. Listing 5.11 shows how you can loop through the parameters to check for the details you need, a string id parameter in this case, and customize the filter function you return.
